“The main target of our White Cane
Day actions is not represented by the visually impaired people, but by
the other members of the society. We can use this opportunity to inform
the people about the real daily issues faced by some of their fellow
citizens, fellow citizens who usually walk unnoticed among them” stated
Mr. Virgil Lazar, President of the Brasov Association of the Blind.
The white cane is not only a tool
which allows an independent movement but is also a symbol representing
the visually impaired people from our society.
“White Cane Day” pays a tribute to
the many achievements of the visually impaired people, recognizing the
white cane’s role in enhancing the independence of movement. |
